1-Sample Sign Test
The simplest non-parametric test for the median. Requires only that observations are independent.

When to Use
The 1-Sample Sign Test is the most assumption-free median test — it only requires that observations are independent. It is less powerful than the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test but valid for any distribution, including ordinal data. Use in the Analyse phase when data is highly non-normal or ordinal.
